Blues Man

in 2015 times were tough in Greece. The country had endured years of economic crisis and hardship, the political landscape was contentious, and its entire relationship with the EU and the Euro was in question. I was serving there as ambassador at the time, and painted this in June to capture how I saw and felt the mood. It is just a small sketch but remains one of my favorite pieces because of the very difficult circumstances when I painted it.
