Talega Fountain, San Clemente - Signed Artist's Proof

I made only one Artist's Proof of this canvas print. It measures 18 x 24 x 1.5 inches on thick-wrapped Artisan Archival Canvas, mounted on a wooden frame and professionally taped. The overall tone of the canvas is a warm golden color, so the brightest area of the image is the brilliant white oil pastel where flowers and fountain meet.  There is a one-inch border and I have signed it on the back. You can see both watercolor and pastel running over the margin into the border area.

This graceful, multi-tiered fountain in sits in a roundabout in the Talega neighborhood of San Clemente.  It is surrounded by well-tended flowers and a palisade of towering palms where birds of all kinds find forage and sanctuary.  I would often walk our dog to a grassy spot nearby.  A home opposite always flies a large American flag, its folds gently lifting and filling in response to the dependable breeze from the Pacific that moderates the climate here. For me, this is the picture of winter in southern California: sun, sky, fountain, flag and flowers. A snowbird’s dream.
