Day's End, South Beach

In the winter, there are fewer people at South Beach in San Clemente and this watercolor sketch is of the moment when the sun sinks low and the last surfers head for shore in their wetsuits.  Unlike summer, the winter sky will sometimes have scattered cloud formations to join the sea in catching and reflecting the waning light. It's a time of day that I like, when the world seems to go quiet.

This painting measures just 6 inches by 8 inches.  It is matted and framed, with overall dimensions of 11.5" x 13.5" x 3/4".
