I painted several views of the Temple of Apollo in Corinth while assigned to Greece as ambassador 2013-2016. It is not often that one of my older Greek paintings becomes available but this one has not been previously published. I came across it recently in one of my portfolios of unframed work. I liked the colors and contrast and decided to share it.

The Temple of Apollo, with its distinctive Doric columns, was one of my favorite subjects during the three years I lived in Greece. This view is undated but as I recall it was one of the later versions, so probably done in late 2015 or 2016.

Corinth was a short drive from Athens, and I visited often. The American School of Classical Studies in Athens had studied the site extensively and conducted yearly digs there.

Doric Grandeur is unframed, 8.5 x 12.25 inches. It has a one inch border all around, leaving plentry of room for framing.
