On the River

This is a 9 x 14 watercolor of fly-fishing on the Kennebago River in the Rangeley area of NW Maine, one of the state's pre-eminent trout fishing locations. I particularly liked this spot because of the beautiful colors and reflections in the water. There is no sky, but sky and greenery alike are reflected in the water.  Along the banks are the dark places, rocks, brush and overhangs where the fish like to hide.  There is a zen-like quality to standing in the river as it quietly glides by, and that is what I tried to capture here.
